Project description: The project involves the implementation of a highly effective high-volume production technology (integrated system for threading, detection, and separation of cold-pressed parts on a progressive press) on the market. Thanks to the use of a prototype production monitoring device, the company can complete the entire process of stamping, welding, and threading quality control in ONE OPERATION, rather than in the SEQUENCE of the above OPERATIONS currently used on the market, which significantly increase the time and costs of the process:
– LOWER PRODUCTION COSTS (EFFICIENCY): The new technology offers savings of up to 37.7% for a series of 200,000 units;
– HIGHER QUALITY: the introduction of a prototype quality control device developed by the company into the process reduces the risk of quality errors (e.g., omissions) by simplifying the production sequence. The project will contribute to the development of

Project types and intervention categories: Implementation and commercialization of product and process innovations
Dominant intervention category
– Investments in infrastructure, capacity, and equipment in MŚP directly related to research and innovation activities
Project objectives: “To increase the competitiveness of DIE TECH by introducing an innovative service to the market in the form of an integrated system for threading, detecting, and separating cold-formed parts.”
The project objective is complementary to the objective of Measure 3.2 “Increased use of innovation in MŚP.” This is due to the fact that DIE TECH Sp. z o.o., while implementing an R&D project in 2017-2018, mastered the technology of producing stamped parts with simultaneous threading during the stamping process.
Thanks to the implementation of a prototype device for detecting the quality of parts, a number of activities that increase the costs of the process have been eliminated from the stamping process.
Thanks to the use of the prototype DIE TECH MONITOR device, the company can complete the entire process of stamping, welding, and threading quality control in ONE OPERATION, rather than in a SEQUENCE OF OPERATIONS, as has been the case on the market to date, which significantly increases the time and cost of the process.
Completing the process in a single operation is crucial in terms of the costs of high-volume production, especially above 20,000 units. In this case, the increase in process efficiency is exponential compared to traditional production technology (Nut’s welding), assuming current production costs.
The introduction of the DIE TECH MONITOR quality control device prototype developed by the company reduces the risk of quality errors (e.g., omitted operations) by simplifying the production sequence. This completely eliminates the human factor from the quality control process. Tests conducted between June and October 2018 on the DIE TECH MONITOR prototype device in trial production processes using presses showed 100% effectiveness of the quality control process, while in the traditional process (Nut’s welding) there was a 2-3% failure to detect errors in the production series.
One of the elements of the project implementation is the purchase of dedicated equipment for the implementation of a new production line in the company. The implementation of this line will be an INNOVATION. Until now, the company did not have effective equipment that would improve its production activities to such a significant extent. Thanks to this, the company can complete the entire process of pressing, welding, and quality control of threading in ONE OPERATION, rather than in the SEQUENCE of the above OPERATIONS used on the market to date, which significantly increase the time and costs of the process.
Schedule: The project is planned to be implemented between June 2019 and December 2020.
